As the largest LEED-certified convention center in the United States, the Anaheim Convention Center is leading our local community to change the way meetings and conventions impact our environment.
Some key green initiatives employed at the Anaheim Convention Center include:
- On-site rooftop chef's garden
- Participation in Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program
- On-site "Green Zone," a recycling and composting area that provides the Anaheim Resort District with fortified landscaping compost
- Environmentally Preferred Purchasing (EPP)
- Ownership of our own free-range beef; certified humanely raised, grass fed and finished, ensuring a safe food source
- 1.5 megawatt rooftop solar array coming in 2012
Our local community has also embraced the green culture. Check out what some of our partner hotels, transportation companies, event venues and other businesses are doing to lessen their carbon footprint.
