Green Convention Center
In November 2010, the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC’s leading rating system for designing, constructing and operating the world’s greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings.
The Anaheim Convention Center is the largest convention center on the West Coast. It's use of a natural light environment helps incorporate this facility's clean and green philosophy.
ACC’s Green Policies include:
- Solar energy -the first and largest grid connector solar power generating system in Anaheim, generates 140,000wkh of electricity a year
- A comprehensive recycling program
- A water and energy conservation program that incorporates low-flow equipment, compact flourescents and energy efficient materials throughout the building
- Usage of non-toxic cleaners in maintenance
- Environmentally friendly products used within the facility
- All lobby carpet on all levels is certified "green"
- Partnering with leading sustainable caterer Aramark in ACC meal functions and events
